Teens

The adult teeth are usually all through by the age of 11-14 and this is the most common time for orthodontic treatment.

Treatment will generally involve fixed braces for between a year and two years. Sometimes space is made by extracting adult teeth (your dentist would be asked to do this) but there are now many other options and extractions are less common than a few years ago.

If your son or daughter is concerned about the appearance of traditional fixed braces we offer less noticeable clear ceramic fixed braces or almost invisible Invisalign Teen.

Appointments are usually scheduled about every 6-8 weeks. We also offer a discount for “off-peak” appointments between 9.30 and 3.00 and a payment plan to spread your investment.

As NHS waiting lists in the area are growing we are seeing many more teenage patients. We will be honest at their assessment if their problem is likely to qualify for NHS care, giving you the option of remaining on a waiting list elsewhere or starting private treatment with us almost immediately. A typical course of treatment lasting 20-24 months, similar to the fixed braces your child would receive on the NHS costs £3940, with the option to reduce this to £3540 with off-peak appointments (9.30am-3.00pm), and we have a range of payment options., please ask for details.
