Megan Hatfield qualified as a dentist from Leeds University, UK with Honours in 1993. She did a variety of posts in dentistry including hospital work in oral surgery and orthodontics, teaching dental students, and general practice in Catterick and Wetherby. She undertook three years of specialist training at Leeds Dental Institute and St Luke's Hospital, Bradford, qualifying as a specialist orthodontist in 2005 with the J K Williams gold medal for the top marks in the country. She also has the Postgraduate Certificate in Lingual Orthodontics from Warwick University, and is experienced in using invisible braces. She brings over 30 years experience as a dentist and nearly 20 as a specialist, and keeps abreast of the current research and development.
Wetherby Orthodontics was established in October 2005, moving to the current premises in May 2006. It is Megan's goal to offer high quality private treatment to adults and children who want to improve their smile.
Megan works three days a week in Wetherby and has additional commitments at a specialist referral clinic in Harrogate. She enjoys lecturing to other dentists, dental students and dental professionals.
Megan's personal promise to you "I will provide the best in customer service and clinical care. I will look after you or your child from the first visit to the last and make sure we work together to get the best possible result."
Megan enjoys running and cycling and ran in the Virgin London Marathon in 2011, raising over £2000 for charity in the process. She has two daughters who have both had orthodontic treatment.
Megan Hatfield is registered with the General Dental Council on the Dentists’ Register and the Specialist List for Orthodontics, registration number 69607.
Support Staff
Here at Wetherby Orthodontics our reception is shared with Ashby Dental, you will be greeted by members of our Welcome Team.
Dental nurses Sapphire and Melanie regularly work in the treatment room with Megan, but you may also meet other members of staff.
All our dental nurses are registered with the GDC or are in training. All our clinical staff adhere to the GDC standards for dental professionals. The staff are always ready to help you with any queries you may have, please feel free to call us.
THE PRACTICE
Our Practice
Our practice is in a converted detached house on the outskirts of Wetherby which we share with Ashby Dental. Our practice is modern and welcoming and the orthodontic surgery is spacious and private, for one patient (and an accompanying person) at a time.
We have free on site parking to the front and rear of the building and offer text or email reminders for your appointments.
